November's coming: it's time once again for The ToolPost's Open House

As many of our more established customers here at The ToolPost will know, each spring and autumn, we proudly host our 'Open House' event that brings together many of those who shop with us, while showcasing many of the finest practitioners of the woodturning art.

Our next Open House will be held at our Didcot showroom and shop over Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th November, when we will be presenting our world-renowned selection of tools and equipment - and free refreshments, while giving you the chance to watch our amazing guests and learn invaluable tips and insight on woodturning. Their demonstrations will be a rare opportunity to see not just one, but several master craftsmen at work. There's also the chance to meet, and talk to, many of our suppliers face-to-face.

Among those guests will be two of the biggest names in woodturning, Seamus Cassidy and Robert O'Connor, from Ireland, where they annually wipe the board at the IWG turning competitions. Whether you wish to learn and build your woodturning skills or just enjoy the show, these two will both entertain and educate you.

But the special guest appearances don't stop there, as you will also be able to meet the man who literally wrote the book on peppermill making, Chris West. The author of Turning Salt & Pepper Shakers and Mills will be in attendance to share the techniques he uses to create the most intricate and beautiful salt and pepper shakers.

German woodturner Martin Adomat will also be here courtesy of Killinger Lathes, along with the top man fomr Killinger and also the CEO of Hunter Tool Systems, Mike Hunter. You may recognise Hunter Tool Systems as the creators of carbide turning tools, so you can expect Mike to provide some invaluable information on how to get the most out of yours.

We are also delighted to welcome expert woodturner Bert Butterfield to demonstrate the art of pyrography, as well as renowned wood artist and sculptor Simon Clements, who will give a live demonstration of the precision carving that he uses to create his remarkable art.

Possibly the best thing about our Autumn Open House event, however, is that it is completely free of charge to enter, with even the parking costing nothing. So, why not come and meet our crew here at The ToolPost and watch master wood turners and carvers practicing their craft first-hand?

The Open House takes place at our Didcot shop at Unit 7 Hawksworth, Southmead Industrial Park, spanning 10am to 4pm on both the Saturday and Sunday. Don't miss this truly significant event in the British woodturning calendar!
